Story: The large-file problem
There's a third way to send large files - it is for enterprise users who need to securely send their materials and send massive amounts of content to and fro to supply chain partners - This is coined Digital Logistics Management and firms like Radiance Technologies of Los Altos sell software that has an email like user interface, or uses a CUNI (whichever user prefers) and places nodes (servers) at each end point - the software has algorithms that optimize bandwidth on existing IP networks - using up to 80% of what's available in the "pipe" and breaks up the the files sent reassembling them later. You can even set prioritization of content sent. You can schedule and monitor the delivery. So, after buying software there's nothing else you need if you buy the hosted version. Users include ad agencies, media firms and manufacturing firms - all who send large files daily, even up to terabytes of content.
