So that's £1000 per customer that MS was expecting to fleece?

With the riduculous prices they charge it is no wonder people are looking for the cheapest provider.

Buy a PC with XP Pro and it is about £40 dearer than XP Home. One idiot bought the wrong one and so we had to upgrade. XP Pro OEM less than £120, XP Home to XP Pro upgrade £170. I queried this absolute lunacy with MS and was told:
"we purposely don't fix our prices so you can get the best deal from our resellers by shopping around" so how are we supposed to know it is fake and not "the best deal"?
