Story: Berners-Lee calls for Net neutrality
I think both camps have their valid points. There is a need to have premium content/bandwidth (If nothing else, for funding method). But there is the danger of unfair discrimination/favoritism.
Perhaps legislating that the difference in bandwidth/routing should fall within specified limits (say 25-30%) might be a way of allowing both camps to come to a compromise. Thus allowing premium content/customers, but guaranteeing that the less fortunate content is never completely or unfairly stifled?
