Story: German police sue eDonkey 'criminals'
Having read the detailed report on heise, it looks like they've actually gone after 3,500 people in Germany (from 40,000 people traced), who were sharing files (note the original release talks about files in general, not music files which break copyright), as opposed to those downloading the music.
Whilst one of the accussed had put up something like 8000 files, there was no indication as to how many of the 8000 files were illegal music, something else illegal or whether some were in fact legal...
I'm not saying these people are innocent, but the statistics being given out so far are very airy-fair, while they point to illegal music (or other illegal content), there are no specific figures on how much of the traced content was illegal.
And from 130 raided premises, they confiscated around 100 PCs, which implies that at least premises had 0 PCs, in which case, how were they traced in the first place?
