i actually got my answer with alittle more reading on their site...

" As standard our machines do not come with operating systems or with any applications software. You must obtain and install this yourself. This is because it will be cheaper for you to obtain it than for us to buy it here. If you require assistance sourcing Microsoft products in your own country then we may be able to help.

Computer Aid International is, however, a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher, which allows us to install a Microsoft Windows 2000 licensed operating system only, at an additional cost of £5 per machine.

We can also install Microsoft Works for an additional £5 per machine.

We can also supply Gnu/Linux open source software on disk (operating system and applications). Please ask if you require this service."

so i see for 5 euro's .? yuo can get windows 2000 installed..... but not linux.... you have to do that yourself..... usually when you read of someone putting down the OLPC you will 99.999% of the time you will find Microsoft's name somewhere........
