Story: AOL customer service is still a concern

One of the strengths of AOL has been their free customer support. Now it is in the depths of despair with their new 0870 number service.
I've signed up for TalkTalk and they are requesting a MAC Code (Migration Authorisation Code). Phoned AOL 0870 number, got a lady in India, kept me talking by pushing information at me until - after 10 minutes - she says MAC Code will be sent to my master screen name with 48 hours.
Four days later and no MAC Code. Emails to cancel@aol.co.uk just receive silly messages saying 'ring the 0870 number'!
Called the 0870 numberagain, this time Karen in Ireland, similar story but finally advised that MAC Code will be sent to master screen name - sound familiar?
Still no MAC - watch this space.
My advice? If you're considering moving to AOL - look elsewhere.
