Story: Oracle to distribute Red Hat?
They can distribute a "Red Hat based" Linux, but unless they get the OK from Red Hat (and pass some ca$h), they cannot say it is "Red Hat" or use their familiar logos (the Shadowman).
CentOS refers to Red Hat as "prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor". They have to change their logos, graphics and reference names from Red Hat to CentOS.
Their trademark agreements can be read here : http://www.redhat.com/f/pdf/corp/trademark1.pdf
So Oracle's going to be selling a "Red Hat wannabe" that Oracle is going to support but does not have control over, as well as passing upstream their changes?
Good luck Red Hat!
