Story: Leopard may beat Vista to market
Umm, Tiger caught up with Vista and thoroughly disemboweled it. Leopard is racing ahead.
Look at Vista's feature set: is there *anything* of significance in there which isn't already in Tiger, released last year? Windows is truly in full copy mode.
Take the ten revealed Leopard features. Does Windows have a GUI-base WYSIWYG widget editor (or any free development tools at all, for that matter)? Does Windows have an integrated, searchable, backup solution (MSBackup, the old DOS holdover bought from Norton, doesn't come anywhere near making the grade)? Does Windows Mail offer stationery which makes presentation-quality HTML emails with the ease of iWeb? How about the other seven features?
No, Leopard isn't catching up with Vista. It's leaping far, far ahead. Apple *did* hit that vital gap of releasing a Vista-killer in time for this holiday season: it was released last year.
