It's only far that the idiots behind this scheme make up any shortfall in the funding costs personally then. Let's have some accountability for a change.
Spoke to a Policeman friend the other day and they have renewed their passports to keep out of the scheme as long as possible and as they say, the ones it is supposed to sort out are outside the scheme or throw their papers away so they can't be traced.
This is solesy seen as a way to get at the law abiding citizen yet once again. One of my extra gripes is why should we have to pay for the card? It is either saving money or it is not. My lad has just left school, no job, no money coming in so how could he pay for an ID card to get into the system. Poorly thought out, no definitive object, no definitive plan, no overall integration plan and yet they have the costs down pat for the next 10 years. Yeah right! Make them responsible for the difference in costs and lets see how long this project runs then.
