Only good for Microsoft

Having worked for a company which had an "alliance" with Microsoft (for which they paid between $250,000 and $500,000/year), I can assure you that Novell is going to get as screwed by the deal as was my former employer Y.... Despite being told that our money was going to help "keep us in the loop over any new developments", we were constantly attending trade shows where Microsoft would announce an alliance with one or more of our direct competitors. Our jaws would drop, we'd have to pick up the pieces from our business plans, and move in a new direction. (That employer is no longer in the chip business.)

Novell has been bent over a table before by Microsoft, so why, WHY are they doing it again? I'd bet they won't even get a kiss out of it.

I guess it's time to drop my enthusiasm for SuSE. Just when I thought I'd be happy and out of the grips of Microsoft ....
