Story: Microsoft and Novell: Open to question
A very well written text
"while Novell is paying a royalty to Microsoft" I suppose Microsoft
will pay Novell "a lot" for this deal.
I have the sad feeling that the "top" of Novell in this "quarterly economic" world have a very poor understanding about OSS and the GPL.
So if I was a pessimist, I would say that Novell was a very easy pray for Microsoft.
Looking at the picture of Ballmer and Ron Hovsepian shaking hands I get the feeling that one of them has made it, and the other is thinking about his retirement having not made it economically yet.
Long time strategy agains short time strategy.

"Open source is to be shared, or it is nothing. Novell will have to choose which it wants".
Very true, and Novell cannot change that, but did they ever understand that in the firts place.
