The "advancing new" cheat is "in vista"

In Europe, not many people is waiting for Windows Vista. In fact, not many people feel the need of a new operating system. If one really wants an OS which is stable, flexible, fast, multitasking, multiplatform, continuously updated, resistant to viruses and also adaptable to older computers, well, it exists since long: its called Linux, in its various and free distributions. It is possible to defend ourselves from the invasion. Besides, Vista is threatening to slow down the Net as well.
Maybe business companies are more attracted to the new, with fear of losing the game of competition, but those who have to pay with their own budget are more aware.
Some private software has this in common with "intelligent missiles," with mega-dams, with OGM food, with electronic vote: it is one of those technological solutions that give a high advantage to very few people, and are a disaster for many others. It's the "advancing new", by now since too long.
