Agile programming doesn

The title is a line from an infamous Dilbert cartoon.

It's great to see a company like Conchango changing the path of development using new methods and clearly making them work.

However I believe the competition is less Accenture, IBM etc.. and more the offshore players themselves, WiPRO, Infosys, TCS etc... Players like this have also already invested in Agile methods, and whilst may not have the same track record of sucess, their gravitas will speak volumes.

One approach to compete more effectively would be to use Agile Methods combined with high productivity tools. Such tools enable much of the development to be completed in the requirements phase without programming. Henry Peyret of Forrestor has written a great article on DIY tools for the business, essentially dev environment for business people to put their own solutions togther!

The good news since henry wrote his article is that such tools and case studies exist today ;o)

Kind regards...........Dharmesh

The fact is: Software developers today are really designers and not coders. The reason that business anlaysts exist today to model solutions is because they understand the value of designing software before writing it. All too often developers create code that has little value because they do not understand that business classes interact with other classes within the confines of a working model or pattern.
