Depends

on what your definition of "open source advocate" is.

I find the folx at Groklaw are more "free software" advocates, that push the anarchist viewpoint, and that the Samba people in general are of that ilk. It's not surprising that one of the three Samba developers on Novell's staff would rebel, parroting the Samba line.

Not all Open Source advocates are anarchists. Many hold a more "corporate-oriented" view, and those tend to support, at least in essence, the Novell-Microsoft deal, and are less quick to judge the IP portion of the deal as negative to either Novell or Open Source.
