I believe we are moving in the right direction here from a technological perspective, also form a power consumption point of view.

Perhaps the development of these new "Disks" should be given more support? I mean, laptop users want longer battery life, don't they?

Also may be these new disks could be used in high-density computing environments too. E.g. why not put them im Blade servers etc. Hosting companies I'm sure would love to have reduced power bills and delight at packing more byte-based storage in physically less space!

Come on you sappy manufactures, get behind this one!
Sorry to the traditional HD makers, but your technology could soon be obsolete. Why not get onboard with this, or are you too proud?
