Story: Apple explains its accounting conundrum

Good story, I can only think of one more question which must be on everyone's mind and which the reporter could have raised and that is; 'so why are Apple charging for the upgrade if the rules they blame don't actually require it?' Is it a matter of different interpretation of the rules?
