Story: NHS dismisses calls for IT review
Denial of Incompetence and Failure
The NHS's chief executive David Nicholson is very, very wrong to refute the concerns of the experts. In any commercial organisation his head would roll in the event of failure but in the NHS, with it's long, almost guaranteed, record of very expensive IT failures he knows that, come what may, his job and taxpayer funded salary are quite safe.
Perhaps we should eradicate chief executives in the public service and introduce managing directors and Boards of elected directors, all with pay in arrears related to financial and technical success.
