Is this Crossbow?

I heard that Microsoft developed a new windows mobile edition code named Crossbow. Is Windows Mobile 6 the same thing?

I also heard it would not be released as an update or a standalone product - it has been released to manufacturers to test but you may not see it appear on many/any phones as Microsoft is already working on a Vista-like edition which should be released later this year.

Although I am tempted to get the first XDA phone to feature WM6 I may hold out for the newer edition to be released.
