What if...

the name OneCare was replaced with the name of some other Microsoft product?

Something to think about unless someone wants to state that various Microsoft products have totally separated R&D life cycles within the Microsoft campus from start to RTM. No overall total quality management system or anything else in place whatsoever. Hmmm, what does that mean?

Is it that various Microsoft products are developed so separated from each other that one slip up doesn't say anything about the other? But what about overall and total interoperability then? The power of one. Their key thing.

Or is that there is a general way of developing so if one slip up is noticed it might very well be the tip of the iceberg?

As such bigger questions should be asked then just the boundaries of a single product rushed to market.
