"It's wagging its tail" or "Its wagging it's tail"...

Old school the apostrophe here should be for the possessive but as with many areas of grammar modern useage allows for either of the above to be "correct" or simply don't use the apostrophe at all.

Without a council setting standards of use, the English language is able to be flexible and adapt within a very broad set of variables.

I appreciate some are more retentive than others on the issue but this also explains why many responses are based on spelling issues. Grammar can change rapidly and is often led by cultural developments. Spelling tends to be defined by the producers of dictionaries and, therefore, changes take a bit longer to become accepted.
