A leopard never changes its spots.

Microsoft have made fortunes by locking people into using their OS and their applications, so naturally they don't want truly open standards for file formats destroying their monopoly. Thank goodness that another large company (IBM) has stood up to them at last.

The sooner we can all choose the OS and application software we want, without being forced down the Microsoft route, the better!
