Regulating IT Professionals

In an industry that has gone unregulated (U.S) since its inception, it is good to know that Microsoft has shown interest in the regulating of IT Professionals. I believe some form of accountability on a local and state level would benefit micro, small and medium sized businesses whose IT dollars are precious and scarce. Many have laid claim to being IT professionals after a couple of online courses and have gone out to destroy business systems, data and confidence. A licensing system on a local and state level would create some accountability to the industry ensuring a level of confidence in IT Professionals again. As technology evolves and more businesses become reliant upon its data/communications systems, the need for reliable "Licensed" technicians is needed. A business investment in equipment and software is not taken lightly, nor, is it a purchase thats made by visiting the local Circut City or Staples. My thanks to Microsoft for its willingness to support this referendum.
