Is this why they spent *so* much on iPlayer?

More than £30,000,000 on a re-hash of Microsoft proprietary software to provide a single-platform solution which doesn't even work properly on Windows XP...

The BBC still has superb engineers, but they appear to be handcuffed by political appointments with a unexplainable crush on Microsoft.

Great to see licence payers money spent in this way.

Congratulation to the BBC's Director General - nice work...

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
