I Agree

It's good to see someone with a bit of muscle speaking out. Pity there aren't more people/organisations with some real clout voicing out against Microsoft's predatory tactics to try and level the playing field and curb Microsoft's abuses of its dominant position.

In context of the latest news concerning the appalling 'agreement' between Microsoft and Linspire, I wonder if Canonical (who do have some muscle) should consider action against Linspire since it's new version will be based on Ubuntu (and Ubuntu are also collaborating with CNR) and it appears that this latest agreement is a clear and unambiguous breach of the GPL.

Unchallenged, I believe this represents a very serious danger to Open Source Software and the GPL.

I wonder about the ownership of Linspire and how they can be 'leveraged' more effectively than was, ultimately, the case with SCO.

Please let's now hear the voices of the readers of ZDNET lend some support to Open Source Software and the GPL. Their voices also ARE needed.

Now is the time to start taking this danger VERY seriously. This is big and very nasty business in action. The objective seems absolutely clear. Destroy GPL and 'steal' all the technology. An activity with plenty of precedence.
