What are we coming to?

I read that he had been charged with "theft of a broadband connection" which conjures up the images of Peter Sellers attached to phone wires as he fell out the window while making a call. Like to see the chap making off with the outlet!
Meanwhile what the heck is happening here, kids are being shot on the street but the UK police are arresting people for "driving a vehicle suspected of carrying sound equipment", "theft of broadband" etc.
Sorry, just answered my own question: under this government's guidelines, these evil people the police are concentrating their efforts on are ... "drivers".
