Story: Man arrested over wireless 'piggybacking'
I'm not guilty for other's crimes
Yes, my public IP is static, and is readily identified to an Internet service which I pay for ...so what ?
I can't see how I can ever possibly be guilty for any crimes commited by anyone accessing Internet systems via my access point, just as I don't expect my ISP to be guilty should I commit a crimes over their service.
Ignoring my public WiFi. my Internet link also have private WiFi and ethernet cabling for several computer systems, all used by several people (family & friends). Under your logic - I am to be guilty for their crimes too, and the Royal Mail are guilty for delivering illegal images, alongwith guns and drugs
I will always be "innocent until proven guilty", and how can they possibly prove correct guilt for some crime I never comitted ?
