Headless chicken mode

"It's a nice indication that they are not trying to subtly coerce customers to move forward onto Windows Vista."

If an OS manufacturer spends billions of dollars on developing a new OS and then decides not to coerce its customers away from its predecessor, they really are in headless chicken mode.

Surely SP3 for XP demonstrates an admission by MS that most customers don't understand the benefits of 'upgrading' to Vista or they simply think its no good.

With Mac on a roll and Linux now breaking into the OEM market, the Windows desktop has never been under so much pressure.

Monopolization of media using DRM is a far more enticing prospect.
