So why is Google doing this?

In response to your question why is Google doing this, mentally picture your life in a virtual parallel universe. What do you see yourself doing and where are you going? Google's Android software shall provide you & me the opportunities to live vicariously in this new dimension.

Expect to see the three-dimensional mapping program develop into the virtual parallel universe scenarios/stage that the parallel universe citizen shall view and live in.

Open Source Software developers shall provide the applications for the development of the facets that
makes up the parallel universe dimension

Through Android, Google is putting itself in a position to dominate and manipulate virtual life communities. Why?....
well... back on the Google farm, she will be known as "Android the Cash Cow" drinking from the advertising revenue stream.
