Gartner - to be trusted?

SaaS is a growth area but the reports attempt to marginalise the affect of open source software is suspicious.

Gartner is a reality distortion specialist. In my experience they don't report 'fact' they write convincing sales pitches for their paymasters.

Their paymasters tend to be the very organisation who stand to lose most by open source software.
