Thanks for your comment, and of course there are almost always more desktop installations by number than server installations on the grounds that there are far more desktops than servers. The point that the author, Peter, was making was that, percentage-wise, desktop penetration is higher than server penetration within the group surveyed. And that this could indicate a growth in Linux at the desktop, which is a change from the historical role of Linux being at its most successful at the server level.
