Vista would be too expensive at $1.00

I bought a new laptop (2.2GHz chip and 2GB Memory) it came with Vista. Oh my, what a piece of shite!! Worse than windows 98. It crashed completely on the 2nd day, was so slow I hated it. I took it back and now I have a great computer running on XP. I can understand why Microsoft are pushing Vista, but why are computer makers using it? That is beyond me. Whatever it's price it should already be history.
