We don't need another social network
I agree, Facebook has had clangers, beacon being one of the biggest. But in terms of having an alternative, we already have Bebo, Myspace et al, none of them do better on privacy.
The only way a new player can ensure your privacy is by abandoning the advertising as a way to generate income, this means charging you for membership, are you willing to pay to be on a social network?
