Unbelievable!

Another $100 million dollars! What a total waste of time, money and resources. I wonder if anyone knows just how many SAP programs have been started then dumped and the total cost to date? I know of a certian bank that tipped $500m into a failed SAP program before ripping it down and throwing it out.

I've always wondered why anyone would ask a different cultural mindset to come into their business and provide a complete model and system.

Not that I have anything against German ingenuity. It's just that the SAP developers need to understand the very fabric of the culture they're creating the program for.

The certain bank's culture ultimately clashed with the model SAP was wanting to provide. I was told by someone within the development team that, "They were trying to impliment things and provide attributes that just wouldn't culturally stick with our people."

So it's no surprise that it's happened again. There is of course a danger here which I'll go into another time.
