Story: Gates: Windows 7 to come 'in the next year or so'

This will kill Vista

This announcement will put people off buying Vista, if they know the next version is just around the corner.

This is especially true for enterprises, who won't waste time and money on upgrading to Vista. Most enterprises will just leapfrog Vista for Windows 7. I know I intend to at the school I manage.

Or should we expect a retraction of this announcement soon?
