Too soon?

Last week there were statistics that Vista uptake amongst enterprise users was just 6%. how is such a statement meant to help increase uptake?
Considering that third party software developers are still adjusting to Vista, i'd think it too soon to announce Vista's replacement. Maybe Microsoft realise that Vista is unlikely to gain significant ground (alas Windows ME) and are moving on already.
