Story: ISO calls for end to OOXML 'personal attacks'
Talk about missing the point so completely
Given Microsoft pushes their flavour of OXML, where does that leave your documents? Will you be able to read/write them in a few years? How will you ensure that you don't waste vast amounts of time/effort/money keeping them up to date with wherever Microsoft wants to take you today with their document format?
That is the issue. People have (rightly imho) decided it is time to have a stable open standard for document formats, so they no longer have to waste time/effort/money in managing their current and older documents.
Do you get it yet?
