Story: NHS top IT job to be split in two
sensible
Obviously I cannot comment of the salaries involved - nor why the NHS see an increase in the management investment to be justified - but I do think this seems a logical organisational move.
The remit and roles have two differing focal areas - one on ensuring the value of information (and, in collaboration with the HR Director, knowledge) management within this vast organisation - the other on operational excellence and delivery from a critical large scale programme of work.
The real question in my mind would be who is fullfilling the aspects of the 'office of CTO' - within which a part of the remit will cover information technologies.
