Where’s the beef?

I still don’t understand what Lee Siegel’s problem with the internet is, sure most internet bloggers are unprofessional but, doesn’t that reflect the real world?
I don’t go to somebody’s blog expecting factual information or professionalism, I go there to read their opinion on a certain issue.

Sure there are hoaxes, like LonelyGirl15 as mentioned, but I also remember watching wrestling for years thinking it was real, until one day I heard a rumour, which quickly became rumours and then eventually a known fact!

Mr Siegel might have had a bad experience with the “Internet Machine” but at least it’s more inclusive than the “Media machine”.
