Fixing v Resolving

As I understand it, in modern day IT terminology following MS redefinitions
"Fixing a bug" means making changes that may or may not cure the problem but definitely hide the symptoms, whereas
"resolving a bug" means redefining it as a new feature, an user error or unreproducable!
