Mobile phone ewaste recycling

It's an interesting point to note, given that the WEEE directive clearly states that circuit boards from Mobile phones should be recovered. I guess it's got to be down to the fact that Mobiles are small and get overlooked more than larger WEEE- hence languish in the bottom sock drawer or get put in the bin. The other point to note is that there are a few companies offering cash for mobile phones, which they must export in order to re-sell. Who wants a 2 year old phone in the UK? Such waste streams rarely get reported to proper authorities.
