Window Tax

"The EU today announced their intent
to place a 25% duty on all clothing containing
any blue pigment."

What a crock.

If they want to raise more money, why don't they just increase the percentage points on existing taxes. Adding a new tax requires new bureaucracy to administer the tax and adds another administrative burden on the whole of the relevant supply chain. It is, in short a financial and administrative drain on the economy, which is, I'm given to understand none to healthy at the minute.

If this is NOT about raising revenue, then why is it that the EU wants to make these devices less attractive? What have the bureaucrats got against smart phones?
