Story: Digital duties, not rights, should shape our world
The real point of the matter?
"....an offence punishable by up to 10 years in prison to collect or distribute information about a police officer in a way that might help terrorists, often interpreted as inciting disorder."
Collect or distribute information about a police officer??? Does that mean a police officer is now no longer considered a citizen? Take an oath, join a team and automatically be protected by [a] law?
Since when have ALL officers been considered angels? What, no corrupt officers among them? Ever?
Seriously why wouldn't any governing body want to know when/ how an officer may have acted with incorrect intent? And that's the only point I understand here - the intent and in this instance the particular officers' mental intent to take action was caused by....what? A guy walking past who wasn't wearing a suit?
