More tracking = more identification = more garbage

You're spot on John! Though tears may not be the only outcome, it's looks to me like another attempt at turning content models and providers like Youtube/ New York Times etc into revenue generators. By providing the access gateway to future premium content Adobe will try and make a bundle while ruining our experience with the very problems you've described. Beyond that, it's also a means to fool us all into adopting another piece of software which will easily have the capability to (yet again) profile our use and preferences and deliver more (ir)relevant advertising (i.e. more revenue) etc etc.
