Blog I stupidly went at it again. This time I installed all the idiotic updates and security patches to bring the SP2 machine that wouldn't update to SP3 to SP2 up-to-date. In other words I took the RED PILL.

Blog Comment Actually that's not the problem since the "original" system image is a volume license of SP1 with the SP2 service pack slip-streamed into it. None of our systems use AMD chips so the registry entry should not be the culprit.

SP3 Under Suspicion Again
Blog Comment If you ask a Microsoft rep, he will tell you the reason. The fault lies in the user. I had the same problem trying to install SP2 to an older version. I finally just gave up and bought a copy with SP2 included.
