Blog Comment I think the thing to push and what has impressed me, is the fact that you can put linux on almost any old computer. Running live or full install and be creating documents within the hour including pdfs.

Blog Comment Thanks for your coment Julian. We realise that the balance of useful information vs advertising is a very real issue for people coming to ZDNet (and to those driving along the motorway! and we have taken great pains to get it right.

Blog Comment I totally agree. I looked at as many of the of the submissions as I could find. Almost all of them made me want to cringe. Hardly any of them attempted to say what linux actually is. Several made the mistake of direct named belittling comparisons...

Blog Comment Ahh, thats very annoying As for advert blocking when I'm not on IE6 at work I tend to use Firefox, which has some nice Ad Blocking extensions available. Although BitSmiths host file solution is sounding like a good solution to try out in the future.

Blog Comment Not much you can do about advertising on the M4 corridor, but when it comes to your PC you can take some steps. I've been using hosts file ad-blocking for years. It's a simple, effective and free way of keeping control of your screen space.
