Apple iMac G5: a first look review

Reviews Now that the iPod era is upon us, it makes sense that Apple's new iMac G5 wears the same uniform as the little MP3 player that revitalised the company's fortunes. Available in three different base configurations, Apple's new all-in-one PCs start at...

Apple iMac G5 (2.0GHz, 17in.): a first look review

Reviews Apple's three iMac G5 models now ship with the new Tiger OS, a slew of new hardware and, in the case of the 20in.model, a lower price. We've criticised Apple in the past for including only 256MB for its standard configurations; now 512MB is the...

Apple iMac G5 review

Reviews With no buttons or ports on the front of the iMac, the machine has a lovely uninterrupted appearance, which should come as no surprise since Apple's iPod design team had a hand in creating the iMac G5 (in contrast to ads we've seen, an Apple...

Apple Power Mac G5 review

Reviews Our test model came with Mac OS X 10.2.7; Apple couldn't point to a specific date, but did tell us that the Power Mac G5 will ship with Mac OS X 10.3 Panther very soon. What this adds up to is a more efficient system with, Apple claims, a maximum...

Reviews The Apple Power Mac G5's graceful yet industrial 'cheese grater' design hasn't changed with this go-round; it has the same sleek but solid shape and hefty size at 206cm wide by 47.5cm deep by 51.1cm high As before, you can pull a latch on the back...

Apple G5 chips 'in short supply'

Talkback I think it is complete BS for Apple to keep taking orders for items they can't fill. Thanks Apple I placed my order in June and still haven't gotten my G5.the next ship date is supposed to be tomorrow but I was told if they miss it they'll issue...

Apple Power Mac G5 dual 2.5GHz review

Apple iMac G5: a first look

Talkback Apple have transcended the gap between computing and life, thankfully giving a breath of fresh air in an otherwise drab ethic of conformity, how you can fail to be anything but impressed by any of Apple's products in recent years I do not know.

Apple iMac G5: a first look

Talkback The tone of your article is negative, so I immediately assume that you are not very fond of Apple. I can tell that you are missing the point: Apple is about creation, about pushing through the doldrum pc box design.

Apple iMac G5: a first look

Talkback The new imac is very cool looking, but I belive that the author has valid points, apple has 2 lines that it sells, the very greatest and the striped down model.

Apple G5 chips 'in short supply'

Talkback Shortage of G5 chips must be the case because I ordered a dual 2.5 G5 on 7/9/04 with an estimated ship date of 7/30/04. On 7/29/04 they revised the ship date to 8/20/04. We'll see how they do with this date.

Apple iMac G5: a first look

Talkback One comment: When you comapre pricing, dont compare everything to a BYOB (build your own box) rather compare it to the similar products on the market place - the gateway that is $125 more expensive the ibm that is $50 cheaper, but only 15" etc etc

Apple iMac G5: a first look

Talkback I don't believe the authour has actually ever USED an iMac G5. Macs are very easy to criticise, because they have lower clockspeeds than wintel boxes.may get you a 3.4Ghz wintel box, but even the 1.6Ghz iMac G5 can be considered faster, because a...

Apple Power Mac G5 (dual 2.7GHz): a first look

Talkback Beside a card reader what expansion concerns do you have? I guess 800Gig of HD's and three open PCI slots isn't enough for you but it certainly is for an average user like me. Rick Dual 2.3
