Dream Linux 3.5 - Results and Summary
Blog Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S2110: This laptop has an ATI display adapter, and although the Dream Linux 3.5 distribution doesn't appear to include the proprietary fglrx driver, it comes up just fine on the standard ati driver.

Some Days You Eat the Bear...

PCLinuxOS 2009.1 Released
Blog Fujitsu Lifebook S6510 (Intel): No problems. Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S2110 (AMD): No problems. The ATI Radeon 200 display adapter comes up, using the fglrx driver. The ati driver is also included, you can switch to it and it works just fine.

Fedora 10 Released
Blog I have installed from the Live CD on my Lifebook S6510, and it seems to work very well. However, I have also tried to install it on my Lifebook S2110, so far without much success. I suspect that the problem is with the driver for the ATI display...

SimplyMEPIS 8.0 Released
Blog I have now also installed SimplyMEPIS 8.0 on my Fujitsu Lifebook S6510 (Intel) and my Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S2210 (AMD/ATI), also with very little trouble. MEPIS announced their SimplyMEPIS 8.0 release over the weekend.

Mandriva One 2010 RC2
Blog The first of those was my Fujitsu Lifebook S6510, which is a pretty standard Intel Core2 Duo CPU / 965 graphic controller based system, so I don't see why the hardware would confuse it. The other two were both AMD CPU / ATI graphic systems.

openSuSE 11.1 Released
Blog Installation was smooth and easy on both of my laptops - meaning that it didn't have any problems with the Lifebook S2110 and its ATI display driver. The openSuSE Project made their 11.1 release available yesterday.

Ubuntu Jaunty - Positive and Negative
