Chrome OS
Talkback I installed Chrome OS, in virtual box, under PCLinuxOS, and found it to be very slow also. I did not get a log in screen though. The desktop just came up. I suppose if installed to a standard hard drive it would run much faster.

Chrome OS: a first look review
Reviews For an event that many thought would disrupt Microsoft's Windows 7 launch, Google's announcement of Chrome OS was remarkably low-key. Part of that is because Chrome OS looks very similar to Chrome — just another browser.
