Asus EEE can run translucent 3D compiz desktop and full Ubuntu

Talkback Note the method does not work for .ISO files built with grub bootloader - need a different install method with grub boot loader instead of syslinux. So the above command would have been done as follows in Ubuntu.sudo -s cat mbr.bin > /dev/sdc

Linux and Disk Partitions

Moblin on the Nettop - Part 2 (Overview)

Blog They're using an unusual syntax in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file (vga=current). If you try to set it up in a multi-boot system, and you actually boot a GRUB from some distribution other than Moblin, it is likely to choke on that syntax when you try...

A Few Notes about the GRUB Bootloader

Blog If the partition you have in mind isn't listed by the find command, then you aren't going to be able to set GRUB to run from it.grub> root (hd0,7) Because of my multi-boot setup, and the fact that I am more or less continually reloading one...

Linux Mint 7 "Gloria" - It Just Keeps Getting Better

Blog The differences are obvious right from the beginning - Linux Mint uses the gfxboot version of grub (the bootloader), and includes a nice graphic background for the boot sequence. Ubuntu doesn't like for you to simply "su" to be root, they want you...
