Great desktop replacement notebook -- but heavy!
Member Review The Dell Inspiron 5100 is a great machine and have had no problems using it as if it were a regular old desktop PC. However functionality like that does have its drawbacks. Heavy machine at almost 8lbs.

Superb Screen, Pay for the Name, Good Desktop Replacement
Member Review Purchased the UK Version of the 197XP. In the retail version you get the wireless mouse with the PC - Not mentioned in the ZDNet Review. Screen is Fabtastic, Sound is a little disappointing from a Sony.

This 'IS' a real desktop replacement
Member Review I have had this exact model now for about a month, I am more than happy with the purchase, only thing I would change is the OS from Home to Pro. I have also ran Doom 3 on it, only having to update the display driver.

Great desktop replacement
Member Review I have had mine since Nov 2003 and I initially had problems with the screen display in Internet Explorer, but it was fixed with Dell Support where we needed to edit the Registry. The wireless and Bluetooth are excellent.

Full featured desktop replacement
Member Review I just got this laptop (1.73gHz/512/40GB/DVD&CD Super Multi Drive Burner, and ATI x600 64MB) to replace my aging IBM T20. I have to say I am very pleased with the system, the design, its operation, and the build quality.
